Finally the demos are impressive, it sounds very present, warm and smooth. The main snare reminds one from the HR16 (but is longer, punchier, and wider), perhaps it comes from the same base sound materials (it seems they layered many snares, as the result sounds a bit like my 3 kits mix example made with EZDrummer, Addictive Drums and Artist Drums). The SR18 sounds very musical (and the bass sounds included don't seem so bad). So, designing a whole instrument can be more creative than building a samples library, even with a thousand less rom size.
