The Microsoft employee at the head of the mac softwares development group revealed to B. Gates that the threath to stop Office for mac was the strongest mean of pressure to Apple. In fact Microsoft was charged by the federal agency in 98 for such commercial fact (Apple was forced among other things to put IE preinstalled on every mac).
