05-06-08 / 00:49 : MacOSX 10.6 Snow Leopard (cjed) | ArsTechnica predicts that during the WWDC (next week) Apple will present an early version of MacOSX 10.6, whose code name would be Snow Leopard. Then the new OS would be principally enhancements (in speed and stability), would be rewritten in Cocoa (notably getting rid of the UI Carbon code), will take a lot more profit from 64 bits, and should only run on Intel macs (to simplify the developers work) ! To remember some previously Carbon only APIs are now available in Cocoa, wich is the target development environment. Owners of G4 macs will then be "left in the snow"... | | Comments | Write a comment | |
