| 13-01-07 / 17:15 : The iPhone name : Apple Phone ? (cjed) | Cisco finally decided to sue Apple for using the name iPhone, that they some years ago deposited. The facts are that Apple, with the imac in 98 and its iApps later, initiated this naming scheme. And a lot of opportunist companies deposited close names, planning to sell these later to Apple... Now that Apple surprised these bad competitors renaming the iTV Apple TV, we can easily expect that it will be the same with the iPhone (that will not ship until june), that is Apple will rename it Apple Phone...
On macosrumors we indeed learned just before the Macwolrd that the iPhone name wasn't really a problem... As a proof, we can look at the iPhone case : as with the Apple TV there isn't any mention or name except the Apple logo... We will see next if competitors try to use the Apple trademark ! | | | Comments | MacPlus a rapporté une autre explication venant de ZDNet, comme quoi Cisco n'aurait pas redéposé le nom à temps (1er dépôt en 1999)... Une seule chose est sûre, ça fait une belle pub tout ça ! C'est vrai aussi que le nom est rarement affiché sur les produits Apple, ce qui est étonnant quand on voit comment ils protègent jalousement "iPod" par exemple.

Souvent ZDNet est pro Microsoft, y'a qu'à voir les articles sur l'iphone comparé aux autres modèles (ont pas du bien regarder la keynote lorsqu'il y avait une comparaison justement...)
