16-08-08 / 12:47 : iphone GPS & Bluetooth (cjed)
The iPhone gps uses various means to manage localization : cellular network, wifi, or geolocalization. The later requires at least 3 well positionned satellites (can take from a few seconds to 20 minutes) and it does not work inside (open windows at least).
The bluetooth on the iPhone is limited to handsets.
Comments
This news was indeed written directly from the iPhone using 3G connection. The screen is very readable, and doesn't require to zoom too much. Data size received after browsing many hours on mac sites like Macbidouille (and its forums) was very low (about 15Mbytes, on a 500 Mbytes monthly subscription). Reading emails through Yahoo (full standard site) or Gmail (iPhone targeted version) was easy, the same with Mappy.
