| 12-04-07 / 23:33 : OLED displays revolution (cjed) |  Backlit LED displays market seems to really start, with Samsung and Sony announces (the later also presented a new technology using micro CRT instead of LEDs). These displays offer a far more better color rendering, even a bit better than traditional CRT displays (10% better), and there is no comparison with traditional LCDs (30% less color than CRTs). The contrast ratio is also oustanding.
There is still to see if Plasma displays will be able to catch up, and we are expecting soon OLED/LED-backlit video-projectors. There are however problems to fix : the huge size of OLED displays (less than short CRT but higher than traditional LCDs) and the high price entry. | | | Comments | | Write a comment | |
