24-03-08 / 23:57 : Safari 3.1/Firefox 3/IE7/Opera9 benchs (cjed) | Computerworld provides a comparative review of Safari 3.1 (on OSX and Windows), Firefox 3b4, Opera 9 and IE7. Safari is still two times to four times faster than Firefox 3 (while using less CPU), and two times to six times faster than IE7. Moreover Safari 3.1 is the only browser to comply with new HTML 5 tags, CSS3 animations and CSS3 webfonts. Finally Safari 3.1 is faster on OSX than on Windows, probably thanks to the better integration of WebKit in Leopard, and the OSX network layer. Macnn also provides an article including HTML and javascript benchs. Even Firefox developers are jaleous. | | Comments | Write a comment | |
