On OSX it requires X11 (runs under it), so it is not elegant (as Linux and Windows versions). Next version (2.0), in development, will be out soon. It will provide, among the basic servlet/jsp admin pages, a JMX admin console.

The strength of Boinc consists in the ability to join several research programs, running in background process and being designed for Altivec CPU. Some people having used Boinc on G5 are computing a SETI packet in less than 2 hours (against about 11 hours on my G4 1,25 GHz) !
