09-06-05 / 12:07 AM : Kawai ES4 and MP8 (cjed)
Kawai, well known digital pianos maker (like Gem Promega), presents the ES4, a "portable" digital piano (20 kg, reduced size), that fits well in the previous ES3 and ES5 family. It offers 96 notes polyphony and its piano sound is warm and strong. The provided demos demonstrate great secondary sounds (electric piano, realistic rhythms with great drum sounds).
More expensive MP8 offers 192 notes polyphony, a brighter acoustic piano sound, fantastic brass sounds, a lovely acoustic guitar, a fine and expressive solo violin, deep strings, and also wonderful rhythms.

Yamaha introduced new flagship digital pianos, the P-140 and P-140S. They benefit from the awarded P250 "Dynamic stereo" technology, for a smaller size and a lower price (1499$). The demos show a soft piano sound, but static in some ways when switching velocity layers (3 samples per note). The included electric piano, harpsichord, vibes and bass sound great.s
