| Gearjunkies provides first pictures of the Nord Wave taken during the Musikmesse. That is a new version of the Nord Lead that can work with any waveform (sample) as oscillator. The demoed instrument would be just a prototype and no more informations are available yet at the Clavia site, except the logo (smiley) describing a new waveform (external indeed, through USB) in the picture published yesterday. |

 The SP2 is the new scene piano from Kurzweil. It includes an optimized version of the Triple Strike Grand piano for the new audio architecture (probably the same as for the PC3), as other sounds (64 patchs total) : electric pianos, strings, pads, mallets, vox. The polyphony is only 64 voices but it provides 16 multitimbral parts and 64 rhythmic patterns. The price is only 1249$, that is the same as for the Roland RDSX300, and less than the PC1X (1829$, however the later brings more sounds - those from the PC2 and Roms cars - and an arppegiator). That is probably the best choice for an autonomous master keyboard.s |

 Kurzweil presented the PC3, that onboards complete sounds rom from the PC2, the famous Triple Strike Grand Piano, Orchestral and Classic Keys roms, a new Strings rom (ensembles and separate sections), KB3 mode (organ simulation) as well as new sounds : basses, guitars, drums, synths (2 extension slots are available). The multi-effects is derived from the KSP8 and a sequencer and arppegiator are included. It manages sound up to 24 bits/192 Khz and allows 128 voices polyphony. Kurzweil states that contrary to other manufacturers, they design their own ASIC, so theses are specialized and more powerful at a same rom size basis.No audio demos are available yet and it is priced 2999$. |
