The H2 onboards two stereo mics (then it can record in surround / 360°) - only one stereo mic on the H4 -, however the H2 features non pro inputs (minijack), it doesn't include a multi-effect module, it can't allow multi-track recording and no sequencer is bundled. |

| NI provides a file Content.plist on its site knowledgebase, that has to be put (replace old file) in user/Library/Preferences. | In this thread from NI forums we learn that the Kontakt 3 library, 33 Mb instead of the K2 15Mb library, contains all the K2 samples except 3 Gb. Moreover the instruments layout has been completely reworked (six instruments families). Kontakt 3 can read K2 samples but not the other way. We can then either keep a part of the K2 library (the K2 exclusive samples) and migrate projects to K3 (required if we supress the K2 duplicate samples, for example all VSL samples, that 7,5 Gb) - we also have to add the path to the K2 library in K3 and rebuild its samples databasee -, or keep all K2 samples and an instance of K2 for old projects. The K3 update from Kontakt 1 or 2 is priced 149$ (less expensive than the crossgrade, that corresponds to an update from a third party library bundled Kontakt or Kompakt). |

| A new Kontakt 2 update is available, the 2.2.4, that brings Leopard compatibility. However it doesnt't fix the EasWest libraries registration problem (Kontakt 2 continues to state that they aren't registered). A 2.2.5 update should be out next soon. Update : NI provides a file Content.plist on its site knowledgebase, that has to be put (replace old file) in user/Library/Preferences.  NI now provides at download a Kontakt 3 demo. Sessions are limited to à 30 mn and save and recall functions don't work. Some instruments from the 6 categories (Band, Orchestral, Synth, Urban Beats, Vintage and World) are included (about 300 Mb). That is here (458 Mb, universal library).A 3.0.1R2 update (hotfix for 3.0.1) is available here fot the full version. |
