An interview of the producer of Alice in Wonderland game for Wii is available. We can also find a game for iPhone with the same name (see walkthrough here), however this later has nothing in common with the movie (despite looking interesting).
Finally we are expecting the sequel to AmericanMcGee Alice (2000) , that is due in 2011 on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 (see Amercian McGee's twitter).

The long awaited Galaxy Vintage D piano samples library from Best Service is finally available (and priced 129 euros). It includes 10 Gb of 24 bit samples (2000, 13 velocity levels) and is based on Kontakt 4 player (Intel mac required), whose lossless compression format allows to save half the disk space (and shortens the load time). The new BumToMac utility displays a 3D (cube) desktop (like looking from a QTVR scene), and allows to pin files icons to walls and arrange them into stacks. Videos are provided. Perhaps to expect into the next MacOSX, in the same way CoverFlow was integrated.

Roland presented the GAIA SH-01 during the MusikMesse 2010. This 37 keys instrument features 3 VA oscillators (with resonant multimode filters), and 64 notes polyphony. Effects are included (5 simultaneous), as well as a D-beam, an arpeggiator and phrase recorder. We can watch a video here. The expected price is 650$.

The sequel Return to mysterious island 2 is available on mac and PC (29,90 euros). It works on Intel and PowerPC (G5 stated however it should also work on G4 as the first episode, despite graphical glitch - visible structure of the panned images -, probably due to Radeon 9000 Pro). Native Instruments presents ABBEY ROAD 70s DRUMS, the second collection of drum samples developped in collaboration with Abbey Road Studios. It includes two kits, The Open Kit (Ludwig Vistalite Tequila Sunrise from 1972) and The Tight Kit (vintage 1970s Premier model). Samples (6,4 Gb at Kontakt 4 compressed format) represent 14 Gb linear 24 bits/44,1 Khz.
Audio demos are available, and it is priced 99 euros.

A new iPhone (and iPad) application, Minipad, allows to send Midi messages to a host (Logic, etc.), through Wifi, by implementing Midi network protocol (the Midi networking feature has been available on MacOSX's CoreAudio since years, however it is lacking from iPhone's SDK). Contrary to solutions based on OSC (Open Sound Control), no server application is required on the mac side.

Opera Mini for iPhone has been submitted to Apple. It isn't a real browser, in fact it acts as a terminal, the rendering is computed on remote servers. Zoom isn't implemented yet (the image will have to be computed at another scale), and what about javascript support ?

Arturia provides a 2.5 update to Analog Factory. The PowerPC version now works in Logic and other AU hosts. Arturia also presented The One, that bundles all products (Analog Factory 2.5, Minimoog V, Moog Modular V, ARP2600V, CS-80V, Prophet V, Jupiter-8V, Brass 2) in a 15 days trial, with one licence to activate thereafter for the selected product (249$).

Apple provides a 9.1.1 update to Logic Pro (downloadable here - 192 Mb, not available through Software Update) and Logic Express (139 Mb, there). Logic Express now also supports 64 bit mode and longer than 32 characters flenames. However the installer won't install the update on PowerPC : in fact when we extract the app from the package using Pacifist, we discover that it is now Intel only (not Universal Binary).
Logic Pro's 32bit Audio Unit bridge's stability has been enhanced.

Microsoft presented a test version of IE 9, that brings support for some HTML5 technologies, provides hardware accelerating (through Direct2D) for SVG and HTML5 video element, and manages javascript code on an additional core.
Then another news that won't help Flash.

A beta version of VMWare Fusion 3.1 is available. It notably brings better performance for 3D games and applications : OpenGL 2.1 support for Windows Vista and Windows 7, DirectX 9.0 SM3 performance improvements, Windows Aero performance.

A new release (1.0.1) of CP2JavaWS is available. It adds support for Cappuccino 0.8 (won't work with previous versions - use CP2JavaWS 1.0 for these).

Note : when creating a tableView manually, and setting CP2JavaWSTableViewDelegate as the delegate, we now have to define the sortDescriptor on each column, for example :
[column setSortDescriptorPrototype:[[CPSortDescriptor alloc] initWithKey:[column identifier] ascending:true]];
This is done automatically when using Direct2CP mode (see CP2JavaWSMasterDetailView).

Khronos announced OpenGL4 (specification only for now, we will have to wait for implementations), that includes the following features :

- two new shader stages that enable the GPU to offload geometry tessellation from the CPU;
- per-sample fragment shaders and programmable fragment shader input positions for increased rendering quality and anti-aliasing flexibility;
- drawing of data generated by OpenGL, or external APIs such as OpenCL, without CPU intervention;
- shader subroutines for significantly increased programming flexibility;
- separation of texture state and texture data through the addition of a new object type called sampler objects;
- 64-bit double precision floating point shader operations and inputs/outputs for increased rendering accuracy and quality;
- performance improvements, including instanced geometry shaders, instanced arrays, and a new timer query.

Meanwhile, OpenGL 3.3 is aimed at bringing most of OpenGL4 features to older GPUs.

Native Instruments presents EVOLVE MUTATIONS 2, that includes 317 patchs (1,4 Gb of samples - 2 Gb uncompressed) in 4 categories : Rhythm Suites, Percussive Kits, Stings & Transitions and Tonality & FX. A new effect, Trigger FX, allows to shape sound using the keyboard. Audio demos are available, and Kontakt 4 (full or player) is required.
It is priced 99 euros, and the EVOLVE MUTATIONS 1 & 2 bundle is provided for 149 euros.

Expected since the cancellation of Half Life 1 port on mac), Valve annonced that it will deliver its Steam game/purchase platform on mac (will use WebKit), as well as its Source 3D engine. Then games using it will run natively on MacOSX, and performances are stated as on par with those on Windows. Among planned games for mac are Left 4 Dead 2, Team Fortress 2, Counter-Strike, Portal, Half-Life 2, Portal 2 (will be released on mac and PC at the same time). Moreover we will be able to play/continue on mac and PC, by purchasing a single version for both platforms.
We also learn that Valve worked with Apple (and GPU providers) to ensure optimal performances on mac, and reported hints to Apple for its OpenGL implementation to benefit from Open GL 3.x enhancements (that should be included in MacOSX 10.6.3).

Mozilla announced that Firefox will use a new javascript engine, JagerMonkey, based on WebKit/Safari's Nitro engine. Recently they stated that Firefox will implement 2D accelerating through Direct2D on Windows, and OpenGL 2.1 on MacOSX and Linux (Safari on iPhone has been providing hadware accelerated graphics through CoreAnimation for years, and it was added to MacOSX desktop WebKit recently).

Appcelerator's Titanium solution, that allows to develop native applications using web technologies (acts as a container that provides acessibility to system features, like Adobe's Air does), is available in 1.0 version. Moreover a Professional version adds early preview to iPad platform.

Apple released a fourth beta of iPhone SDK 3.2 to iPhone Developer Program's members. It allows to develop/test (through the emulator) applications targeted to iPad. This version requires Mac OS X 10.6.2, and then an Intel mac. Apple also states that the previous 3.1.3 SDK requires an Intel mac (and Mac OS X 10.5.7). The emulator (Aspen) may therefore not work anymore on PowerPC (previously we just had to edit the .dist file to allow installation on unsupported macs).

While Apple stock quote reached a new record (219$), and that the AppStore converted thousands of developers to Cocoa (150 000 applications available, a success that competitors won't likely be able to achieve), Apple dropped the subscription cost of Mac Developer Program to 99$ per year (that is the same pricing as with iPhone Developer Program), in order to promote mac (OSX desktop) development. Previously, Apple Developer Connection's licences ranged from 499$ to 3499$ per year. The new licence removes the discount on hardware purchases, however it still provides access to software beta versions (including MacOSX) and WWDC videos.

NI presents Alicia's KEYS, a 7 Gb (equivalent to 17 Gb 16 bits linear) piano samples library, featuring a Yamaha C3 Neo, played by Alicias Keys (with 12 velocity levels).
